The Current Affairs News Briefing is Migrating to a New Platform (No Action Needed!)
Hello News Briefing readers,
Before we publish today’s roundup, we have an important announcement: Our briefing is moving to the Current Affairs website and, starting next week, will no longer be posted on Substack. We are currently making an effort to bring all Current Affairs publications under one roof to make things easier for our readers to find and subscribe to exactly what they want to read — this is much simpler if everything is hosted on one platform. We are excited about this change, which will improve the user experience.
What does this mean for you? If you are a paid subscriber, nothing will fundamentally change and you do not have to do anything. You’ll still get emails twice a week in your inbox with the same news briefing you know and love. The only difference is that the briefing web pages will be on the Current Affairs website instead of Substack. We will continue to send the next few briefings on both Substack and post them on our website just to ensure that everyone is able to comfortably transition and that nobody is left behind. You can still subscribe through Substack, too, if you want.
For free subscribers, things will go slightly differently. Instead of giving you paywalled briefings that just show the top story, we will begin making all of the briefings free after two weeks, when they will be posted on our website. As for our previous briefings, our archive will remain on Substack and we will remove all the paywalls so that everyone can access our back catalog!
We hope that this transition will make everything simpler and more enjoyable for our readers. But as with any change, there may be hiccups, though we hope to keep them to a minimum!
If you have any queries or confusion about your subscription or where to access our work, we will be happy to answer them at briefing@currentaffairs.org.
We’ll be back later today with your regularly scheduled news briefing!
In Solidarity,
The Current Affairs Team
